The town of Crystal, Colorado is hard to reach. The only road to the (very) small town is a high clearance 4×4 route that takes some time to navigate. I’ve driven in, and also backpacked there from the town of Marble. The mill is just outside the town, and is a popular photography spot for those putting the time and energy in to getting that far down the road. Those with very serious off-road vehicles can continue along the road to Crested Butte.
