The view of Cusco’s main square, the Plaza de Armas, from Piccola Locanda’s rooftop patio. Piccola Locanda is an affordable hotel that’s clean and has tons of character. I could easily live there and I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Cusco. Book “the library” if possible (their rooms have different names). Because the hotel is located on a steep hill, we needed to catch taxis in the Plaza de Armas. The road to the hotel is too steep for most cars — it’s made of old stone that’s been polished over the years by traffic of all kinds.
