Colorado National Monument is located near the Utah border in western Colorado. I love doing photography at “the monument” and am always surprised by how few photographers I bump in to.The 23-mile long Rim Rock Drive covers most of the park, following the upper rim of a series of canyons. This view was found near the Monument Canyon View overlook. Sunrise in the monument tends to be better for photography than sunset, due to the fact that most of the canyon walls are northeast facing and are lit by the morning sun.
