Star Dune, the tallest sand dune in North America at roughly 750 feet, is shown in this photo and is dwarfed by several peaks in the Crestone group of the Sangre de Cristo Range in the distance. The peaks visible are, in order from left to right, Challenger Point (14,081 ft), Kit Carson Peak (14,165 ft), Columbia Point (13,980 ft), Crestone Peak (west: 14,294 ft, east: 14,260 ft), and Crestone Needle (14,197 ft).
